KATHMANDU: Vehicle movement on the BP highway has once again been temporarily suspended.

The traffic halt was imposed due to possible risks caused by rainfall in the watershed area of the Roshi River.

Kavre District Police Office issued a notice stating that traffic movement on the highway has been stopped as a precautionary measure to reduce potential risks.

“Since rainfall has started in the watershed area of the Roshi River, vehicle movement on the BP Highway has been temporarily held considering the possible risks that may occur on the road,” the police said in a notice issued on Thursday afternoon.

Police also stated that another notice will be issued once the road is confirmed clear of any obstruction and safe for travel.

The highway, which had remained closed for three days after water flow in the Roshi River increased due to continuous rain, had only reopened on Thursday morning before being suspended again.
