KATHMANDU: The budget session of the Federal Parliament will begin on Monday, with the government’s annual policy and programme also set to be presented the same day.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, President Ram Chandra Poudel will address a joint meeting of both houses of Parliament at 4:00 pm under Article 95 of the Constitution.
Lawmakers of both the House of Representatives and National Assembly have been asked to attend the joint session before 3:45 pm.
Earlier in the day, separate meetings of both houses will take place at 2:00 pm. The House meeting is expected to discuss the presidential notice on summoning the session, Cabinet reshuffle updates, House regulation procedures, and approval of obstruction-removal provisions under parliamentary rules.
The government is also scheduled to table eight ordinances, including amendments related to public procurement, dismissal of public officials, and the Constitutional Council, in both houses of Parliament.
