KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an order to call the team of the film ‘Lalibazar’ for discussion in a case related to its release.

A joint bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Nripa Dhwoj Niroula issued the order on Tuesday, directing the parties concerned to appear for discussion.

The case was filed at the Supreme Court after the Patan High Court allowed the screening of the film. Roshni Badi had approached the apex court, filing a writ petition on May 8.

She has named the Patan High Court, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Film Censor Board, the production team Shatkon Arts, and the Film Development Board as respondents in the case.

In her petition, she has argued that the film portrays the Badi community in a way that raises questions about their character and has sought to halt its screening.
