KATHMANDU: Nepali Communist Party coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the inclusive and proportional representation in the federal parliament is a greater achievement than electoral results.

Addressing the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he said the current parliament reflects representation of women, Dalits, indigenous nationalities, Madhesis, Muslims, Tharus, and other marginalized communities, describing it as a “rainbow representation” achieved through long struggle and sacrifice.

Prachanda said this representation is a “story written in blood and revolution,” recalling past movements and sacrifices, including those of women carrying children while participating in armed struggle.

He added that the transformation of parliament reflects the outcomes of the people’s movements and said he personally feels as if he himself is entering parliament whenever any representative from marginalized communities does.

He further said that regardless of party affiliation, he takes pride in inclusive representation and emphasized that the federal democratic republic was achieved through decades of struggle and sacrifice.
