KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting was adjourned for 15 minutes on Wednesday (May 13) after opposition parties continued obstructing proceedings, demanding that Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) personally respond to questions raised over the government’s policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal announced the suspension after repeated protests disrupted the session inside the House.
Opposition lawmakers accused the prime minister of avoiding parliamentary accountability by failing to appear during discussions on the government’s annual policies and programs. The disruption intensified as opposition members insisted that no other minister should answer on the prime minister’s behalf.
The adjournment came amid escalating tensions in Parliament, where opposition parties have been demanding clarification over the prime minister’s absence from the key legislative session.
