KATHMANDU: The parliamentary hearing of Manoj Sharma, who has been recommended for the post of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, has been scheduled for 1:30 pm today.

Parliamentary Hearing Committee wrote to the Constitutional Council asking it to make necessary arrangements for Sharma’s attendance at the hearing.

The Constitutional Council, through a majority decision, had recommended Sharma for appointment as the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

A total of 16 complaints have been lodged against Sharma.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee discussed the complaints filed against Sharma, with opposition lawmakers raising concerns over the limited time provided to study the allegations before the hearing process begins.
