Bagmati unveils Rs 66.93 billion budget for FY 2026/27

KATHMANDU: The Bagmati Province government on Monday presented a Rs 66.93 billion budget for fiscal year 2026/27, with a strong focus on capital spending.

Presenting the budget in the Provincial Assembly, Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Prabhat Tamang allocated Rs 43.97 billion (65.69 percent) for capital expenditure and Rs 22.96 billion (34.31 percent) for recurrent expenditure.

To finance the budget, the province expects Rs 30.15 billion from revenue and revenue sharing, Rs 7.73 billion from other income sources, and Rs 15.31 billion in federal grants.

An additional Rs 12.77 billion will come from the consolidated fund surplus and savings. The remaining Rs 960 million financing gap is expected to be covered through loan repayments and other sources.
