BEIJING: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal has called upon Chinese investors to invest in Nepal and jointly contribute to building the next chapter of “Trans-Himalayan” prosperity.

Minister Khanal, who is currently on a four-day official visit to China, made these remarks today while addressing an investment conference organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

Highlighting Nepal’s economic opportunities and demographic potential, Minister Khanal stated that the Government of Nepal is committed to ensuring an efficient and business-friendly environment.

On the sidelines of the conference—which was organized by the embassy to promote Chinese investment in Nepal—he also met with Chinese businessmen, entrepreneurs, and investors.

Today, Minister Khanal also interacted with representatives of Chinese and international media.

During the interaction, he shared his perspectives on Nepal’s foreign policy, Nepal-China relations, the priorities of the newly formed government in Nepal, and Nepal’s engagement with the international community.

Minister Khanal arrived in Beijing on Sunday at the invitation of Wang Yi, China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Concluding his visit, Minister Khanal is scheduled to return home tomorrow, June 17.
