KATHMANDU: Australian Ambassador to Nepal Simon Ernst and his wife, Simone Murphy, were seen taking part in the annual Paddy Planting Festival (Ropain) as the monsoon season marked the start of paddy cultivation in Nepal.

The couple were seen joining the traditional paddy planting activities and enjoying Newari cuisine during the celebration.

The ambassador also wished farmers across Nepal a bountiful planting season.
