KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a person from Gokarneshwar with a sum of money whose source could not be disclosed.

On Thursday afternoon, police arrested 23-year-old Manmohan Sah Kalwar, a resident of Pacharauta Municipality-7 in Bara, from Pahenlo Pul in Gokarneshwor Municipality-5.

According to the District Police Range Kathmandu, a team from the Police Circle Bouddha arrested Kalwar with the cash. Cash amounting to Rs 3,941,620 was recovered from Kalwar’s possession.

According to the police, funds with undisclosed sources are often used in hundi (illegal money transfer) transactions.

Kalwar had been residing in Kalimati.
