KATHMANDU: Dr. Chandika Bhatta, Executive Director of the Nepal Oil Corporation, has resigned from his position.

On Wednesday, he submitted his resignation letter to Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav.

According to reports, his resignation came after the government requested politically appointed officials to step aside in order to facilitate smoother administrative functioning. Dr. Bhatta is said to have resigned with the understanding that his decision would help ease government operations.
