KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu has announced that it will remain closed on Friday (June 19), in observance of Midsummer Eve, a traditional Finnish holiday.

In a public notice, the embassy advised Finnish citizens in Nepal requiring emergency consular assistance during the closure to contact the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland’s 24-hour emergency service.

The embassy is expected to resume regular operations after the holiday.

Midsummer Eve, celebrated in Finland in late June, is one of the country’s most important traditional holidays, marking the arrival of the summer season with family gatherings, bonfires, and outdoor festivities
