KATHMANDU: The temporary “election police” who were recruited to provide security during the House of Representatives election have been formally bid farewell.
After completing their 40-day election security duty, they were sent off on Thursday after finishing their service period.
During the farewell ceremony, the election police were given certificates of appreciation along with thanks for their service.
A total of 149,090 election police personnel had been deployed to provide security during the election held on March 5.
The government paid each of them a salary of Rs 34,776 for their service.
