Five killed, 116 injured in traffic accidents across Nepal within 24 hours

KATHMANDU: At least five people were killed and 116 others sustained injuries in various road accidents across Nepal within a single 24-hour period, according to official data released by Nepal Police.

The casualties were spread across multiple provinces, with Koshi Province recording one fatality and the highest number of injuries, where 43 individuals were hurt. Meanwhile, both Madhesh Province and Lumbini Province reported two deaths each, alongside 19 and 13 injuries respectively.

Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the rest of the country during this 24-hour window, though traffic accidents continued to cause significant injuries elsewhere. Bagmati Province reported 13 injuries, followed closely by the capital city of Kathmandu with 11 injuries.

Furthermore, Sudurpashchim Province recorded 10 injuries and Karnali Province reported 7, while Gandaki Province remained completely clear of any accident-related casualties during this specific tracking period.
