KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhisma Raj Angdembe has criticized the government over issues of accountability, governance style, and failure to address pressing social problems.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Angdembe said it is “unfortunate” that citizens have to search for the government on social media, arguing that such a situation reflects weak democratic governance.

He stressed that democracy is not a closed-door system and called on the government to remain directly accountable and responsive to the public.

He also accused the government of focusing on populist announcements instead of effective governance and real problem-solving.

Angdembe further drew attention to the unresolved landless settlers’ issue, urging the government to find an immediate solution.

He said human sensitivity and dignity have been ignored in the handling of the problem and warned that such negligence undermines public trust in the state.
