Cabinet takes five key decisions, forms panel to appoint Nepal Securities Board Chairman

KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday has taken decisions on five major issues, according to Minister for Communications, Information and Technology Bikram Timsina.

The government has formed a recommendation committee to appoint the chairperson of the Nepal Securities Board. The committee will be led by Dr. Gunakar Bhatta, Vice-Chair of the National Planning Commission. Its members include Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyaya and expert Bhuvan Kumar Dahal.

The Cabinet has also approved the tabling of a bill in the Federal Parliament to amend the Nepal Special Service Act 2042. Similarly, it has endorsed a proposal to present an amendment bill to the House of Representatives Election Act 2074. In addition, the meeting approved the submission of a bill to amend the Voter Roll Act 2073 in the Federal Parliament.

The Cabinet further nominated Dilli Raj Acharya as Chairperson of the Problematic Cooperatives Management Committee. Navaraj Simkhada and Roshan Bahadur Shakya have been appointed as members of the committee.
