KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting resumed on Wednesday (May 13) after being previously disrupted due to opposition demands for the presence of Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) in Parliament.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal reconvened the session following discussions with the chief whips of parliamentary parties. The meeting had earlier been adjourned amid continuous obstruction over the prime minister’s absence during deliberations on the government’s policies and programs.
During the resumed session, the Nepali Congress pressed for a formal ruling requiring Prime Minister Balen to appear in Parliament and respond directly to lawmakers’ questions.
Lawmakers are currently continuing discussions inside the House as tensions persist over executive accountability and parliamentary procedure.
