KATHMANDU: The meeting of Nepal’s House of Representatives is scheduled to begin at 11 AM today.

Discussions on the government’s policy and program are set to continue during the session.

President Ram Chandra Poudel had presented the government’s policy and program during a joint session of Parliament on Monday.

Wednesday’s House meeting was adjourned without entering the regular agenda.

According to today’s tentative schedule, the policy and program will be presented for endorsement.

Opposition parties have insisted that Prime Minister Balendra Shah must personally attend the meeting and respond to questions raised during discussions on the policy and program.

It has not yet been decided whether the Prime Minister will attend the meeting himself or assign a minister to respond on behalf of the government.

On Wednesday, opposition parties obstructed proceedings after Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle was sent to answer lawmakers’ questions, arguing that the Prime Minister himself should be present.

The ongoing parliamentary session will also present the budget for the fiscal year 2026/27.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly is also scheduled to convene at 11:15 AM today, where discussions on the government’s policy and program are expected to continue.
