KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to vote in favor of Rubi Kumari Thakur, the candidate from the Shram Sanskriti Party, for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The decision was made during a meeting of the party’s parliamentary committee held on Tuesday morning at Singha Durbar. RSP spokesperson and Member of Parliament Manish Jha shared this information.
“The parliamentary party meeting has decided to support Rubi Kumari Thakur (Dhanusha), the candidate proposed by the Shram Sanskriti Party for the post of Deputy Speaker,” Jha said.
The election for the post of Deputy Speaker is scheduled to take place during the House of Representatives meeting at 4 PM today. Rubi Kumari Thakur from the Shram Sanskriti Party and Saraswati Lama from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have filed their candidacies for the position.
