CHITWAN: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has concluded central committee voting during its first general convention, a crucial step before electing six key office bearers.
A total of 384 candidates are contesting for the 151-member central committee, as winning a committee seat is a prerequisite to running for office.
Over 30 leaders have expressed interest in the six elective positions, which party leaders view as a healthy sign of the organization’s growing attraction and expansion.
To maintain a balance between competition and inclusivity during this maiden convention, the RSP’s statute mandates that only six of the 19 office bearer positions will be elected, while Party Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane will nominate the remaining roles.
