SANKHUWASABHA: A woman suffering from severe postpartum bleeding was airlifted from Sankhuwasabha on Sunday under the President’s Women Upliftment Program.
Sanita Pariyar, 27, of Panchkhapan Municipality-7 developed serious complications after undergoing a cesarean section at the District Hospital. According to hospital chief Dr. Santosh Dev, her condition deteriorated due to excessive bleeding following the surgery.
She was referred to Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital in Kathmandu for advanced treatment. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, a Nepal Army helicopter carrying her was diverted to Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar, where she is receiving emergency medical care.
The air rescue was coordinated by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens under a program that provides free emergency airlifts for pregnant and postpartum women facing life-threatening complications in remote areas.
