KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank has released the foreign exchange rates for today (Thursday), showing continued depreciation in the value of the US dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar.
These currencies had also declined in value yesterday. In contrast, the euro, pound sterling, and Australian dollar have appreciated further, continuing the upward trend seen the previous day.
As of today, the buying rate for 1 US dollar is NPR 136.14, while the selling rate stands at NPR 136.74. This marks a further drop from yesterday’s rates, which were NPR 136.24 (buying) and NPR 136.84 (selling).
Meanwhile, the euro has strengthened. Today’s buying rate for 1 euro is NPR 152.76, with a selling rate of NPR 153.74, up from yesterday’s NPR 151.36 (buying) and NPR 152.02 (selling).
Similarly, the pound sterling has appreciated. The current buying rate for 1 pound is NPR 181.51 and the selling rate is NPR 182.31. Yesterday, these rates were NPR 179.95 and NPR 180.74 respectively.
The Australian dollar also gained value, with today’s buying rate at NPR 88.05 and selling rate at NPR 88.44. This is up from yesterday’s NPR 87.36 (buying) and NPR 87.74 (selling).
On the other hand, the Kuwaiti dinar saw a slight decline. Today’s buying rate stands at NPR 442.92 and selling at NPR 444.87, compared to yesterday’s NPR 442.97 (buying) and NPR 444.92 (selling).
Likewise, the Bahraini dinar also dropped marginally. The buying rate today is NPR 361.14 and the selling rate is NPR 362.73, slightly down from yesterday’s NPR 361.40 and NPR 362.99.
