At least 14 killed in Gen Z protests across Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: At least 14 protesters have died after being injured during the ongoing Gen Z movement in Kathmandu.

The National Trauma Centre confirmed that six protesters succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Centre Director Badri Sharma stated that treatment was ongoing for another 20 injured individuals.

Two protesters who were shot by police during demonstrations died at Civil Hospital.

At Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal, one protester passed away, hospital administration chief Narayan Dahal said.

“Three others injured by gunfire were brought to our hospital,” he added. According to him, more than 30 injured individuals have been admitted across various hospitals.

Additionally, one more injured person died at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, while Everest Hospital in Baneshwor reported three deaths.

The protests, organized by Gen Z activists, have seen widespread clashes with law enforcement, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries.
