ILAM: A landslide in Ilam has killed two people and left at least ten others missing, as multiple areas across the district are affected.

Rescue and search operations are ongoing. The worst-hit area is Ilam Municipality Ward No. 6, where a landslide buried a house, killing two members of the same family and leaving three others missing.

Two injured individuals are being prepared for hospital treatment.

In Maijogmai Rural Municipality-6, five people are reported missing after another landslide struck the area.

Sandakpur Rural Municipality-3, Sulubung, has two missing residents, while Mansebung has five people unaccounted for due to landslides.

Houses have also been buried in Manebhanjyang, Deumai, and other parts of Ilam Municipality.

Difficult terrain has slowed rescue efforts and the collection of accurate data.

Floods and landslides have caused widespread damage across the district, and search and rescue operations have been ongoing since early morning.

The exact number of casualties and missing people is yet to be confirmed.
