KATHMANDU: The National Child Rights Council has urged stakeholders to avoid the participation of children in election campaigns.
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, the Council has asked one and all to create an assured environment so that there will not be the engagement of children in the entire election campaign, including after the election period.
The Council has also appealed to all political parties and stakeholders to protect, promote and ensure child rights while urging political parties, their sister organizations and candidates not to bring children to the election publicity campaigns, rallies and victory rallies.
The Council has cautioned political parties that the Election Code of Conduct and other laws relating to elections prohibit the participation of children in election campaigns, welcome and reception, mass meetings, rallies and gatherings.
