KATHMANDU: In the ongoing House of Representatives election, results from 42 constituencies under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) or direct voting system have been announced so far. Among them, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured 33 seats.

The party is also leading in 86 constituencies where vote counting is still underway, indicating a strong nationwide performance.

The Nepali Congress has won five seats so far and is leading in 10 constituencies, while the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) has secured two seats and is ahead in eight constituencies. The Nepali Communist Party has won one seat and is leading in eight constituencies. Meanwhile, the Shram Sanskriti Party is ahead in five constituencies, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party is leading in one.

Independent candidate Mahabir Pun has been elected from Myagdi.
