Police in Lalitpur district arrested a youth on charge of raping a 24-year-old girl from Lalitpur Metropolitan-28.

The accused has been identified as Anush Majhi, a 23-year-old resident of Khadadevi Rural Municipality-1 in Ramechhap district.

Majhi allegedly raped the girl on Friday night. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Stadobato-based Metropolitan Police Circle nabbed him.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
