KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting was adjourned on Wednesday after the Speaker suspended proceedings amid continued obstruction by opposition parties.
The opposition has been repeatedly disrupting the House, including two earlier interruptions in today’s sittings, over their demand that Prime Minister Balendra Shah be present during discussions on the government’s policies and programs.
Despite repeated appeals from Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal to allow the session to proceed, opposition lawmakers continued their protest inside the chamber, preventing normal business.
As the obstruction persisted, the Speaker adjourned the meeting just moments ago, bringing the latest sitting to a halt.
