Saudi Ambassador pays courtesy call on Speaker Aryal

KATHMANDU: Saudi Arabian Ambassador Fahd bin Mohammed bin Mnikhr paid a courtesy call on Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal at Singha Durbar to discuss enhancing bilateral relations.

Speaker Aryal announced the formation of the Nepal–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group to foster institutional cooperation with the Saudi Shura Council.

He also noted that preparations are underway to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations in March 2027.

The Speaker thanked Saudi Arabia for being a major destination for the approximately 385,000 Nepali workers currently employed there and urged Saudi investment in Nepal’s infrastructure, IT, energy, and tourism sectors.

Ambassador Mnikhr reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s high priority on its ties with Nepal, expressing strong interest in expanding cooperation across trade, labor, investment, and tourism.
