KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the 61st International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, a special program was held at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.
The event brought together Dalit rights organizations, human rights advocates, and civic activists, who collectively raised strong and unified voices calling for the eradication of caste-based discrimination and untouchability. There were also powerful calls for justice and accountability in the case of Inisa BK, a young member of the Dalit community, demanding punishment for those responsible.
Among the participants, Khagendra Sunar, a lawmaker from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, emphasized that the struggle against caste discrimination transcends political office and power. Reaffirming his commitment to social justice, he stated, “I will not stop raising my voice against caste discrimination. Even if a government led by my own party acts wrongly on this issue, I will speak against it without hesitation.”
