KATHMANDU: Vote counting for the proportional representation (PR) system under the House of Representatives election is ongoing. As of 1:30 PM on Sunday, a total of 3,538,971 votes have been counted.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has already secured victory in more than 111 constituencies under the first-past-the-post (direct) system, is also gaining momentum in the proportional vote count. So far, the RSP has received 1,763,006 votes in the PR category.
Similarly, the Nepali Congress, which has won 16 constituencies under the direct system, has received 600,389 votes in the proportional count.
The CPN (UML) has secured 502,552 votes, while the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has received 237,818 votes. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has obtained 128,344 votes, and the Shram Sanskriti Party has received 74,115 votes.
According to constitutional provisions, 110 out of the 275 members of the House of Representatives are elected through the PR system.
