KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has admitted that past governments failed to pay adequate attention to the voices and aspirations of young people.

In a video message released to mark one month since the Gen Z movement, she affirmed that the current government is fully committed to the changes the younger generation demands.

She also pledged to ensure that the sacrifices of the martyrs do not go in vain.

In her address, Prime Minister Karki said, “We must all acknowledge the revolution led by the youth. Amid their love and expectations for the nation, there exists a sense of frustration. I want to respect those feelings. Past governments were unable to respond to the demands of young people, and we must humbly admit our weaknesses and mistakes.”

According to Karki, the youth revolution is not merely an act of protest or discontent but a transformative force for national reform.

“The youth movement is not just about dissent—it’s about the power to improve the nation. Therefore, it cannot be ignored,” she emphasized.

Her message, observers note, reflects the current government’s renewed accountability and respect toward the country’s young generation.
