KAPILVASTU: In Kapilvastu, 172 licensed muskets have been temporarily collected ahead of the House of Representatives election on March 5 to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful voting environment.
Following a public notice issued on January 19 by the District Administration Office, police teams visited firearm owners to collect the weapons, which are now safely stored at the District Police Office.
The move aims to prevent fear, intimidation, or any undesirable activities during the election. After the polls conclude, the firearms will be returned to their owners in accordance with the law.
