Police in Kathmandu district on Monday afternoon arrested five persons allegedly involved in gambling offences from Baluwakhani in Budhanilkantha Municipality-10. They were nabbed from Deepa Karki’s residence.

One of the arrested has been identified as Surendra Khakurel, a 25-year-old resident of Dhunibesi Municipality-2 in Dhading district while the names of the other four have not been disclosed.

Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Kapan-based Metropolitan Police Division arrested them. The police also seized Rs 76,120 and three decks of cards from their possession.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
