NEPSE surges by 48.71 points, turnover approaches Rs 9.919 billion

KATHMANDU: On Thursday, the fifth trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by 48.71 points. Rising by 1.73 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE settled at the 2,851.24 mark.

On this day, the Sensitive Index also increased by 4.64 points to stop at 481.53 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.97 percent higher than the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 1.57 percent, and the sensitive float index increased by 1.03 percent.

In the stock market on Thursday, 27,931,770 unit shares of 338 companies were bought and sold through 108,869 transactions. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 9.919 billion was recorded on Thursday.

On NEPSE, a turnover of Rs 12.38 was recorded on Sunday. On Monday, the turnover was Rs 10.928 billion. On Tuesday, the turnover was Rs 6.737 billion, and on Wednesday, it was Rs 8.318 billion.

Out of the 13 groups traded on NEPSE today, indicators for all groups saw growth. Accordingly, on Thursday, the Commercial Bank group index rose by 1.24 percent, the Development Bank by 0.78 percent, Finance by 1.47 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 2.39 percent, and Hydropower by 2.70 percent.

Similarly, the Investment group sub-index rose by 1.00 percent, Life Insurance by 0.99 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 2.58 percent, Microfinance by 1.20 percent, Mutual Fund by 0.13 percent, Non-Life Insurance by 1.00 percent, Others by 3.43 percent, and the Trading group sub-index rose by 0.62 percent.

On Thursday, the share prices of six companies hit the positive circuit breaker on NEPSE. Those hitting the positive circuit include Aatmanirbhar Lhubitta Bittiya Sanstha, Reliance Spinning Mills, Bhujung Hydropower, Ridge Line Energy, Solu Hydropower, and Hotel Forest Inn Nepal. This means investors in these six companies earned 10 percent.

In contrast, investors in NIC Asia Balanced Fund faced a loss of 6.74 percent.

In terms of turnover amount, National Hydropower Company remained at the forefront. Today, a turnover of Rs 434.7 million was recorded for National Hydropower.

Similarly, in terms of the number of shares traded, Prabhu Smart Fund was the leader today. At least 4,881,081 units of Prabhu Smart Fund were bought and sold on Thursday. Its final trading price was maintained at Rs 12.37 per unit.
