SUDURPASCHIM: Jyoti Chaudhary, a 35-year-old resident of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-7, Kailali, who was critically injured after attempting self-immolation, passed away today.

According to the District Police Office, Chaudhary was injured last Saturday evening after setting herself on fire inside her home. Having sustained burns over approximately 60 percent of her body, she was initially rushed by her relatives to Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment. Although she was referred from there to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for advanced care, her family chose to take her directly to Kathmandu instead.

Police Superintendent Kailash Singh Bista of the District Police Office, Kailali, stated that she unfortunately passed away on the way this morning. Police confirmed that further investigations into the incident are currently underway.
