CATTERICK: The First Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles (1 RGR), has won the Defense Operational Shooting Competition 2026 Unit Championship, securing the title for the sixth consecutive year.

The latest victory reaffirms the battalion’s position as one of the British Army’s leading operational shooting units.

In the individual category, Lance Corporal Milan Buduja was awarded the King’s Medallist in recognition of his outstanding performance during the competition.
