KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), which had been on a downward trajectory for seven consecutive trading days, rebounded on the eighth day today. On the third trading day of the week today, Wednesday, NEPSE increased by double digits. Experiencing fluctuations throughout the day, NEPSE ultimately closed with a rise of 44.59 points. The turnover amount on NEPSE also increased compared to the previous day.
NEPSE had fallen for all five trading days of the previous week. Yesterday, Tuesday, NEPSE dropped by 24.63 points, while it fell by 16.54 points on Monday as well. Increasing by 1.70 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2652.93 points today.
On this day, the sensitive index also increased by 5.77 points and closed at 458.57 points. In terms of percentage, this is an increase of 1.27 percent compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 1.58 percent, and the sensitive float index went up by 1.33 percent.
In the stock market on Wednesday, at least 9,539,118 shares of 362 companies were bought and sold 56,769 times. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 3.856 billion was recorded on Wednesday. A turnover of Rs 3.258 billion was registered on Tuesday, whereas a turnover of Rs 2.671 billion was recorded on Monday.

The share prices of 252 companies increased in the stock market today. While the share prices of 17 companies declined, the share prices of six companies remained stable. Out of the 13 sub-indices traded on NEPSE today, Wednesday, the indicators of all groups turned green.
Amid the green sweep on NEPSE on Wednesday, the sub-indices for Commercial Banks rose by 1.14 percent, Development Banks by 1.15 percent, Finance by 1.49 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 1.66 percent, Hydropower by 2.42 percent, Investment by 1.65 percent, Life Insurance by 1.48 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 2.34 percent, and Microfinance by 1.11 percent. Similarly, the sub-indices for mutual funds increased by 0.55 percent, non-life insurance by 2.03 percent, others by 1.76 percent, and trading by 2.60 percent.
On Wednesday, investors of Snow Rivers earned the highest with a gain of 14.99 percent on NEPSE. On the other hand, investors of the Corporate Development Bank lost 5.21 percent of their share value.
In terms of turnover amount, Laxmi Sunrise Bank stood at the forefront today. A turnover of Rs 288.4 million was recorded for this bank on Wednesday.
Similarly, Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited also led in terms of the number of shares traded today. A total of 1,345,112 shares of this bank were traded on Wednesday. Its final trading price for today stood at Rs 219 per share.
